I played in a cloudy April day, with decent gusts. the pro shop was equipped but customer service was slow, staff mostly friendly. the range had a great view and a grass patch, with many targets and consistent balls. there was a decent putting green, but I didn't see any chipping area, although it wasn't needed much as there were no bunkers on course that proposed a problem. the fairways mostly ran nicely with good consistency and trim, but some grassless patches seeped in, and old patches were filled in with a different grass. The palm trees that lined every fairway provided a challenge as trying to play a full shot through the dense line of trees was challenging. the greens rolled fast and hard with challenging slopes that made chipping harder on top of the thick canary style grass. at a certain level past the fairway I was happy to have rental clubs though as the course felt like it was put into a rocky desert, as even the black bunkers had very course sand, which I wouldn't have hit with my own clubs. the layout was nice, with decent variation, with annoying par 4's with heavy doglegs mixed with par 5's that enticed you to whack driver in the chance you could reach in to. I think the layout John Harris gave this course could help them outperform where it currently is. Overall, I really enjoyed the layout along with the rapid greens, but some areas of maintenance need attending to if Costa Teguise wants to rank higher in the canary islands or Spain.
