Cowboys

Those who have seen the price tags that came with the Dallas Cowboys’ stadium and training facilities will not be too surprised to learn that the American football club also has an officially-affiliated golf course. The good news about the latter is that it’s open to the public, with knowledge of “America’s team” not required for entry.

Jeff Brauer laid these 18 holes out along hilly land on the northwest side of Dallas, near to Lake Grapevine, which creates more wind than one might guess for its size. Players will recognize the football team’s signature color scheme — blue and white — when they line up at No. 3: The water in front of the green is the blue, while the flashy bunkers feature sand about as white as it gets. The green, more than 50 yards long, will challenge players early during the round.

Even if your score adds up early, you can tide yourself over with the free snacks and drinks provided throughout the round.

Dallas is somewhat the capital of sports franchise-themed golf clubs. The Texas Rangers, a local baseball team, opened its own acclaimed public club during 2019.
