Craigielaw was the opener to our week in and around Edinburgh and very good it was aswell. The course provided a very quick reminder what links golf is about and was certainly a good test before some of the other courses we played. A small criticism I would make is that I thought two or three of the par 3’s were a bit samey and uninspiring – I think I hit the same 8 iron to three of them. A good test with some good bunkering. I thought the complex was very good, with an excellent practice area, nice bar and we got a superb bowl of homemade chilli and dips for £4.50 each. Obviously not one of the great’s but I thought the green fee (£48) was pretty reasonable. Also, the guy in the Pro Shop was very friendly and helpful. Worth a visit.
