The Farm Golf Links is a 9-hole links-style course situated on 80 acres of reclaimed agricultural land at Crosswoods Golf Course in Crosslake, Minnesota, in the Brainerd Lakes Area. Designed by Scott Hoffmann, a Golf Digest Top 100 architect, the course is scheduled to open in July 2026 and will bring the total facility to 36 holes. The layout draws inspiration from the prairie and dunes-style aesthetics associated with the Nebraska sandhills, offering a character that contrasts markedly with the tree-lined corridors of the existing Sunrise, High Noon, and Sunset nines at Crosswoods.
Hoffmann is known for prior work in the region, including The Classic at Madden's, a championship-oriented design, and The Gravel Pit, a more unconventional, creativity-focused layout. At The Farm, Hoffmann combines elements from both projects, applying championship-level strategic design to a rugged, open canvas shaped from former farmland. The course is described as a prairie-style, inland-links design intended to blend challenge and accessibility.
The Farm Golf Links has been featured in LINKS Magazine's Spring 2026 Golf Courses In Development World Round-up. The project is managed by multiple generations of the Stone family, the operators of Crosswoods Golf Course. Tee times are expected to be available through the Crosswoods website and pro shop from early summer 2026.
The latest ranking of the Top 100 Golf Courses in the World serves as the ultimate global golf bucket list. Most members of our World Top 100 Panel are seasoned golfers, each playing 20-30 of these courses annually while travelling extensively over decades to form their opinions on others. We recognise that opinions vary—even among our panel members. Rankings are subjective, and there are undoubtedly 50 or more courses in the UK and USA alone that could easily fit onto this list.
