Crow Valley Golf Club
In 1961 local head professional Bob Fry convinced Arnold Palmer and Gary Player to come and play an exhibition match at Emeis Golf Course in town. The success of that exhibition allowed Bob and others to begin the Quad Cities Open in 1971, which would later become the PGA Tours John Deere Classic. Looking for a more exclusive club and golf experience and needing somewhere to host the tournament led to 34 locals to develop Crow Valley. The course was designed by architect John Cochran with the PGA Tour in mind. It hosted the first four Quad Cities Opens before the event changed sponsors and moved to Oakwood CC in Illinois. The course is routed around a ridgeline, Crow Creek, and opposing hills to create 3 distinct sections of play that you weave through. In 2026 some green and bunker renovations by Michael Benkusky will take place on several holes. This will open up the steep and severe greens to more pin-able locations due to modern green speeds and reframe landing areas and green surrounds.
