I've played and stayed at the Dalmahoy and I really enjoyed the whole experience, a beautiful old hotel with two enjoyable golf courses. The East course has just undergone a £1m upgrade ahead of the Scottish Seniors which is being held on the East in Sept. There is no doubt, the East is a much better course now than it was before... one of the best inland courses in Scotland in my view. A word about the West course... contrary to the previous review, it's actually a pleasant track. It's not championship material but there are some good holes and there's at least a chance of playing to handicap. I am always very happy to stay and play at Dalmahoy when I'm in Edinburgh and I'm also happy to tee it up on either course.
