Today, the course is laid out across a rather restricted property of only around 80 acres, with holes measuring a total 6,217 yards from the back markers. Par is set at 70 (36 out then 34 in) and there are back-to-back par fives to negotiate at the 5th and 6th holes which run parallel in opposite directions.
Highlights on this tight little tree-lined track include all six short holes on the scorecard, starting at the 157-yard 3rd, where the green lies close to the clubhouse. The last (and longest) of the par threes measures 206 yards from the rear tees, playing to a green that’s fortified by six bunkers.
World Top 100 Golf Courses
The latest ranking of the Top 100 Golf Courses in the World serves as the ultimate global golf bucket list. Most members of our World Top 100 Panel are seasoned golfers, each playing 20-30 of these courses annually while travelling extensively over decades to form their opinions on others. We recognise that opinions vary—even among our panel members. Rankings are subjective, and there are undoubtedly 50 or more courses in the UK and USA alone that could easily fit onto this list.
