Douglas Brasier and Frank Pennink laid out the original course at Delsjo Golfklubb in the early 1960s. Forty years later, Peter Chamberlain rebuilt all the greens, with the renovated layout re-opening on 20th July 2004.

Located in the lovely Delsjöområdet nature reserve to the southeast of Gothenburg city centre, the course is part woodland, part parkland in nature, with fairways laid out across a rolling landscape.

Extending to just over 5,700 metres from the back markers, the layout plays to a par of 71, with the only substantial water hazard arriving at the par four 15th, where a pond lies to the left of the fairway as it kinks to the right.

Highlight holes include the par five 2nd, (with out of bounds to the left as the fairway doglegs to the right); back-to-back par threes at the 4th and 5th; and the tightly-bunkered par four 8th.

On the back nine, the 340-metre 12th and 281-metre 14th are testing par fours (despite their benign stroke index numbers) and the rounds ends with a strong par five that veers right, with a couple of bunkers positioned right in front of the home green.

World Top 100 Golf Courses

The latest ranking of the Top 100 Golf Courses in the World serves as the ultimate global golf bucket list. Most members of our World Top 100 Panel are seasoned golfers, each playing 20-30 of these courses annually while travelling extensively over decades to form their opinions on others. We recognise that opinions vary—even among our panel members. Rankings are subjective, and there are undoubtedly 50 or more courses in the UK and USA alone that could easily fit onto this list.
