Denarau

There are three championship golf courses in Fiji, all on the main island of Viti Levu. Several smaller public courses can also be found, with one each on Vanua Levu and Taveuni. The Shangri-La Fijian Resort and Naviti Resort in West Viti Levu and the Wakaya Island Club and Naigani Island Resort in the Eastern Islands have their own private courses.

One of Fiji’s premier championship courses is laid out at the resort of Denarau Golf & Racquet Club and its generous, open fairways wind their way around stands of giant coconut palm trees and tidal waterways – with water hazards featuring on no fewer than 15 of the 18 holes!

With a par of 72, the course can be stretched to nearly 7,200 yards, accommodating serious as well as social golfers. All four tee shots at the par threes must carry over water and the shortest of these, the 173-yard 17th, is regarded as the signature hole on the course.
