Frégate Provence (Frégate)
The small coastal town of Saint Cyr sur Mer lies within the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region, between La Ciotat and Bandol, where tourism plays a very important role in the local economy.
Tourist attractions include the beach at Les Lecques and the Musée de Tauroentum, where visitors can look at displays of old Roman artifacts. There’s also a scaled down replica of the Statue of Liberty in the town square, donated by Frederic Bartholdi, who constructed the original monument.
Ron Fream of Golfplan designed the 27-hole Golf de Frégate facility, comprising the 18-hole Frégate course and the short 9-hole Frégalon course.
Laid out on cliff tops overlooking the Mediterranean, with vineyards and olive groves surrounding the property, the tree-lined fairways of the Frégate course play to large, lightly bunkered greens that can be difficult to read when the wind gets up.
