De Dommel is a beautiful little gem. It used to be a 12 hole course in the forest, and these older holes are a delight to play, whereas the newer holes have a whole different character. Not that they are bad golf holes, but they are laid out on a rather small piece of moorland and tucked really close to each other on the farthest end of the course. Even with some maturing, they will never really fit in the traditional course. The course is short by modern standards, and a driver would be too much on most of the holes. There are some very tricky holes though with narrow fairways and sharp doglegs. The green complexes look great and the 17th is such a lovely signature hole. Don’t be fooled, if you make a mistake you’re likely to drop a shot . Definitely worth playing!

The latest ranking of the Top 100 Golf Courses in the World serves as the ultimate global golf bucket list. Most members of our World Top 100 Panel are seasoned golfers, each playing 20-30 of these courses annually while travelling extensively over decades to form their opinions on others. We recognise that opinions vary—even among our panel members. Rankings are subjective, and there are undoubtedly 50 or more courses in the UK and USA alone that could easily fit onto this list.
