Drøbak Golfklubb was founded in 1988, with an 18-hole layout brought into play four years later. Today, this popular course attracts more than thirty thousand rounds of golf every playing season.
The layout occupies a rather constricted 115-acre property to the northeast of Drobak, with a total length of only 5,138 metres from the back markers and par set at 70 (out in 36, back in 34). There are no par fives on the shorter inward half.
Highlight holes include the 352-metre 2nd, played diagonally across a small lake to the green, and the short par four 5th, which doglegs right to a heavily bunkered green that lies directly under an overhead power line.
The left doglegging short par 16th is sandwiched between the only two par threes on the back nine, with the fairway narrowing considerably as it reaches the green, and a ditch running along much of the left side of the hole.
Magnus Sunesson has been consulting at the club since 2019 and a number of his suggestions have been carried out, mainly in relation to tree cutting and mowing lines.
