The Dunes Club though 9 holes only is a challenging 18 hole round that has unique rules and features and forces you to use all 14 clubs in your bag.

Unique rules? There are no fixed tee box locations. Whoever wins the hole selects the next tee location which allows the golfer to go long, short, dogleg left or right. The same hole can play 220 or 130. Features? As you make the turn after the 9th hole, the #1 hole location has already been changed...

There's no doubt that Michigan and its' neighboring states are stacked with great golf, but I don't think there's a 9 hole course in America that's better than Dunes Club.

Saying the club is understated may be the understatement of the century. There's hardly any signage anywhere on club property, from the front entrance all the way down to the restrooms. Not to mention that the pro shop is essentially a walk-in closet where you grab what you want off of the shelf bef...
