Review for Dyrham Park

Reviewer Score:

Very surprised by how other users rate this course. Having played this course a handful of times, the conditions range from either unacceptable to average. The greens are slow at best and bumpy/frustrating for the rest of the year.

The highlights for me are the Par-4 7th which plays over a lake and is a true risk reward hole as you can take on more of the lake for a shorter 2nd. The uphill Par-4 9th is the toughest hole it requires a precision drive to a narrow landing area and a well struck mid-long iron 2nd to a smallish green with Out of Bounce all along the left of the hole. The Par-3 11th is a lovely short hole over a lake and requires a precision wedge / short iron to make par. The Par-4 18th is a great finishing hole as you can see the beautiful clubhouse in the distance enticing you as you approach the green from the tee box.

Besides the above stand-out holes, the rest of the course layout is pretty boring with not many memorable holes. I remember playing 3-wood, 9-iron into one of the par 5's (still cant remember the hole number). I have a few friends who are members here and it baffles me that they pay good money to play an pretty average course every week.

As you arrive, the beautiful manor clubhouse
