Eagle Pointe Golf Club
Eagle Pointe Golf Club, and its home in Mont Belvieu, offer a stimulating escape from the urban confines of big-city Houston, playing through pine forests and around the bayous of the Old and Lost Rivers. It is one of the more scenic sites afforded to Rick Forester, whose original body of work is in the Houston metropolitan area, including the Cypress Course at Cypresswood Golf Club.
It’s been constructed for the modern scratch golfer, offering up to 7,170 yards from the back tees. Players will get an opportunity to take a stroke off on the first hole, a par five that plays 536 yards from the back tees. The biggest trick to getting home in regulation is debating whether you can cross Cherry Point Gulley, a creek that flows across the property and down into the Old River. The stream will also provide food for thought at No. 7, where it flows just ahead of the green, and No. 16, a par four where it will limit the distance off the tee for bigger hitters.
Although a public-access facility, the club offers a double-sided driving range that caters to members who want fewer prying eyes while they warm up.
