I played the course in mid-August 2021, Jesper in the pro shop was very accomodating. In one sentence I would describe Falsterbo as "fabulously past its prime".
The bunkering on holes 1, 2 and 7 reminded me of Royal Lytham. Number 13 must have also been recently restored - while some other hazards were derelict. Hole 18 is my favorite hole in Sweden, a reachable par 5 with a deep pot bunker short left of the green. I was surprised to see that the driving range occupies prime golf real estate on the ocean.
It is up to the individual to judge whether mixing pure links golf with large water hazards is a cardinal sin - personally I think it's a shame - If only they could fill all the water hazards with the garbage from Ikea and turn those ponds into hills - then it would be an excellent course. It is a good links but I doubt it's in the same league as the Carnousties and Watervilles of the world.
