Fana

Situated a short 10-minute drive east of Bergen airport, the course at Fana Golfklubb is a Jeremy Turner design, with fairways laid out across a rugged landscape of parkland and forest.

Extending to a modest 5,051 metres from the back tees, the layout plays to a par of 69 (36 out then 33 in), with six of the holes (#12 to #17) laid out on the other side of the main highway to Bergen.

Highlights on the front nine include three lakeside holes – each of which features water to the left side of the green – at the left doglegging 1st, the par three 6th and the par four 9th (rated stroke index 2 on the scorecard).

After crossing the road to play most of the back nine in heavy woodland, the best of these holes are encountered at the 12th (the only par five on the inward half), at back-to-back par threes on #14 and #15, and the lakeside finisher.

World Top 100 Golf Courses

The latest ranking of the Top 100 Golf Courses in the World serves as the ultimate global golf bucket list. Most members of our World Top 100 Panel are seasoned golfers, each playing 20-30 of these courses annually while travelling extensively over decades to form their opinions on others. We recognise that opinions vary—even among our panel members. Rankings are subjective, and there are undoubtedly 50 or more courses in the UK and USA alone that could easily fit onto this list.
