This private course requires that you play with a member. I was fortunate to be invited. The course is way off the beaten path but that adds to the charm of the place. When you go to play, you are there for golf. A great day of golf at that.
This Tom Fazio design is not very long but it is a get challenge from the tips. With 4 sets of mens tees, you can play from a length that suits your game. And don't be embarrassed to play from the white tees. It's plenty challenging from there. Many of the holes are in the 325-375 range but the very long Par 4s are where the course gets it's high slope rating. The Par 5 #2 is a long 550+ hole and is a true 3 shot 5 par.
The real challenge is on the greens. The bent Gras is cut tight and rolled often. Very fast with plenty of slope. In my foursome we had 3 newbies who collectively putted off the green 4 times in the round from fast downhill putts. Ouch! One big surprise for me were at least 10 bunkers under repair. Not what you would normally find in a classy club like this.
If you have an opportunity, be sure to play The Farm. A very enjoyable experience.
