Having played at Finca Cortesin several times over the years we were very much looking forward to our round. However, I regret to say that the course condition today was disappointing and we ended up not even finishing the round given how poor the condition of the course was.

At no point during the booking process, in our conversations with the shop, at the caddie master, or on the first tee were we informed that the course was not up to its usual top condition that warrants the “peak” green fee that we paid. To discover this only after we started playing was extremely disappointing and not, in our view, good business practice.

We have rarely encountered anything like this for a course at this level of green fee EUR 325 per person. While we understand that heavy rain fell the night before, for none of the bunkers to have been raked was well below the standard expected at Finca Cortesin. The sand was heavily compacted, with large gaps and no GUR markings, and it was clear they had not been maintained that morning. In addition, the greens lacked consistency, with no roll, slow speeds, and an uneven surface. I have attached images for reference below.
