Flackwell Heath Golf Club

Flackwell Heath Golf Club was established in 1904 as Wycombe as well as Bourne End Golf Club, with a 9-hole golf course developed by James Sherlock from the Oxford University Club. Three years after, the club's first golf professional, John Turner, added an additional nine holes. The club was renamed in 1904 to Flackwell Heath.

It's located on 120 acres, the course is 6,142 yards from back tees. The par is placed at 71 (34 out, 37 in back). There's just 1 par-5 on the outside half (at 7,544 yards hole, scored stroke index 1.) as well as a par 3 on the more inside half, at 162-yard 12th.

The highlight holes are the third of three par threes at the beginning of the nine, the 3rd, which is 133 yards long (played through a narrow gully of trees leading with a long, slim green) and the shorter par nine, which has the fairway slopes from left to right leaves an unforgiving way to get the ball into the green.

On the back nine, which is longer noteworthy holes are the left-doglegging par four fifteenth (where you'll need to play the approach played over the large depression that is before an elevated green) as well as that par 4 18th, which could be a chance to make a final birdie if you are playing prudently in the direction of the home green.

Recently, Ken Brown and Ken Moodie from Creative Golf Design have been providing advice to the club.

World Top 100 Golf Courses

The latest ranking of the Top 100 Golf Courses in the World serves as the ultimate global golf bucket list. Most members of our World Top 100 Panel are seasoned golfers, each playing 20-30 of these courses annually while travelling extensively over decades to form their opinions on others. We recognise that opinions vary—even among our panel members. Rankings are subjective, and there are undoubtedly 50 or more courses in the UK and USA alone that could easily fit onto this list.
