Flúðir

Founded in the mid-1980s, Golfklúbbsins Flúðir started out with a modest 6-hole track before another three holes were then introduced. The 16th of June 2001 was an important day, marking the inauguration of the new clubhouse and the current 18-hole layout.

Extending to just over 5,100 metres, the course plays to a par of 70, with three par threes on the front nine and only one par five on the back nine. Holes are laid out as two returning nines, with water coming into play at the 13th and 15th, where a meandering stream runs along the right side of both these par fours.

Highlight holes include the first (and shortest) of the par threes at the 107-metre 2nd; the long par five 8th (which bends slowly left off the tee then right to the green); the par three 11th (featuring an unusual cluster of five small bunkers behind the green); and the par five 17th (rated stroke index 2) which doglegs 45 degrees right to a bunkerless green.
