Fujizakura

Located in the northern foothills of Mount Fuji, Fujizakura Country Club is set at altitude in the heart of the popular resort area of Fuji Five Lakes.

Designed in 1976 by Noriyuki Miyoshi, who consecutively won the Japan Amateur Championship three times between 1953 and 1955, the layout is a supremely testing course that stretches out beyond 7,700 yards from the back markers.

The layout is dominated by Mount Fuji, which can be seen from every hole on a clear day and there’s even a mirror image of the famous peak in a reflection pool on the tee box of the 596-yard par five, which doglegs right to a lovely geeensite nestled in a glade of Japanese pines.

The active volcano is the driving line at the straightaway five 15th which is counterbalanced by the pretty par three 16th where a pond guards the front and left side of a wonderful green complex that's almost a Reverse Redan.
