GKG Leirdalsvöllur (Leirdalur)
Founded in 1994, GKG remodelled its golf facility thirteen years later to fashion the 18-hole Leirdalur course and the 9-hole Mýrin layout. The former is now a championship length track extending to 5,869 metres with par set at 71.
Holes are routed in an out and back fashion, with the 4th to the 12th occupying a separate compartment to the east of the main property. Interestingly, the same par is only ever played consecutively once during the round, at the par four 5th and 6th holes.
Highlights include the par five 7th (with water to the left of the fairway) which is rated stroke index 1; the shortest of the six par threes at the 114-metre 17th; and the slightly left doglegging 18th, where the heavily sand-protected home green sits in front of the clubhouse.
