Glen Afton

Overlooking St. Peter’s Island in the Northumberland Strait, the Glen Afton Golf Club course is a seaside delight, with four holes laid out beside the coast, and it’s been operated by three generations of the same family since opening in 1973.

The layout measures a modest 5,962 yards from the back tees, playing to a par of 70, with holes organised as two returning nines, each of which is configured with three par threes. Water hazards hardly feature on the outward half, apart from the little lake to the right of the 2nd, but there are more ponds to contend with at the 10th, 13th, 17th and 18th.

Highlight holes include the shortest of the par threes at the 150-yard 4th, located in woodland to the north of the property, along with the right doglegging par four 13th which runs along the coastline, where mature trees in the fairway have to be avoided before an approach shot can be made over protecting water to the green.
