The Glen View Club hosted the US Amateur in 1902, won by Louis James, and the US Open in 1904, won by Scotland’s Willie Anderson.
The course is well-regarded by Tom Doak who commented as follows in The Confidential Guide to Golf Courses: “The front nine sits up on a low, forested bluff, while the back nine sits down in the valley of the North Fork of the Chicago River, requiring water carries on every hole except the 15th and 16th.”
