Glencoe (Forest)
The first of only three Robert Trent Jones II golf projects in all of Canada – the others are Chateau Whistler in 1993 and The Marshes in 2002 – the forty five holes at Glencoe Golf and Country Club were brought into play in the 1980s when the club purchased the business from Spruce Valley Golf Club after it went into receivership.
Located along the Elbow River, just outside Calgary in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains, the Glencoe golf complex is laid out as two distinct courses, the gentle 27-hole Meadows layout (featuring the Lakes, Slopes and Bridges nines) and an 18-hole Forest “continuous loop” championship course.
There’s a fine mix of holes on the Forest layout – some straight and some doglegged, playing through spruce forest and open meadow – at a golf club where, along with other private Albertan clubs like Earl Grey, Calgary and Priddis Greens, some of the best quality golf facilities in the country can be found.
Visitors may play with a member not more than once a month with a maximum of seven annual visits permitted.
