Seolhaewon (Salmon & Seaview)

Opened in 2006, Seolhaewon Resort, which was initially known as Golden Beach Golf Resort, is situated near the Yangyang International Airport in the northeastern region of Korea. This prestigious resort was originally designed with a 27-hole golf course, meticulously carved out of a dense pine forest. Among these, the Salmon and Riverview nines were combined to form the resort's preferred 18-hole course configuration.

The naming of the Salmon nine is inspired by the remarkable life cycle of salmon, which migrate up the nearby river to return to their birthplace for spawning. This nine offers golfers unique thematic elements tied to the natural and cultural significance of the area. On the other hand, the Seaview nine is strategically placed on the highest elevation within the resort's property. This advantageous positioning allows for stunning panoramic views of the East Sea coast, providing golfers with a visually spectacular backdrop as they navigate through the course.

The course is known for its impeccable maintenance standards. The greens are carefully trimmed to a precise 3.0mm, ensuring fast and true putting surfaces. Tees are maintained at 14mm, and fairways are kept at a lush 18mm, offering optimal playing conditions. Such meticulous attention to detail in course maintenance ensures a high-quality golfing experience that rivals the best in the world.

In recent years, the original trio of nines – the Salmon, Seaview, and Pine – has been expanded with the introduction of an additional 18-hole layout. This expansion not only enhances the variety and challenge offered to golfers but also cements Seolhaewon Resort's status as a premier golfing destination. The resort's commitment to excellence and its unique blend of natural beauty and golfing challenge make it a must-visit for golf enthusiasts traveling to Korea.
