Golf Club of New England
A 2002 Arnold Palmer design, the eighteen holes at the Golf Club of New England are mainly tree-lined, with ponds and wetlands coming into play at the closing holes on the back nine. Rated one of the toughest tracks in the Granite State, the New England course is widely regarded as one of Mr Palmer’s strongest layouts.
The course stands within a large 450-acre property, with no residential elements on or around the golfing activity, which allows golfers the opportunity of savouring the undisturbed natural surroundings of this former farmland site each and every time they tee it up here.
After a relatively gentle start to the round during the opening three holes, the course bears its teeth at the 480-yard 4th and 600-yard 5th, rated the two most difficult holes on the front nine. On the back nine, the 457-yard 16th is one of the more memorable holes, doglegging to the left along the Winnicutt River.
World Top 100 Golf Courses
The latest ranking of the Top 100 Golf Courses in the World serves as the ultimate global golf bucket list. Most members of our World Top 100 Panel are seasoned golfers, each playing 20-30 of these courses annually while travelling extensively over decades to form their opinions on others. We recognise that opinions vary—even among our panel members. Rankings are subjective, and there are undoubtedly 50 or more courses in the UK and USA alone that could easily fit onto this list.
