Golf Valley München (A & B)
Located to the southeast of Munich, on the road to Tegernsee, the Golf Valley München complex is a member of the IMG Prestige network of golf facilities, boasting three 9-hole circuits designed by David Krause. The A and B nines comprise the longest and toughest 18-hole course but the water-laden C loop is a favourite of many with its island green at the par three “signature” 7th hole.
The A and B configuration extends to just over 7,00 metres from the back markers and water comes into play only several occasions: on the A nine, a pond lies to the right of the par three 3rd in the northeast corner of the property and there’s a larger body of water to the right of the short par four 9th. On the B nine, aquatic hazards feature on the three holes from the par four 5th to the par three 7th.
Other holes of note include the long par five 2nd (with out of bounds running left of the hole) and the left doglegging par four 4th (stroke index 5) on the A nine. The B nine begins with a formidable par five (incorporating a couple of enormous fairway bunkers) and this circuit ends with a right dogging par four that plays to an offset green with three protecting pot bunkers.
World Top 100 Golf Courses
The latest ranking of the Top 100 Golf Courses in the World serves as the ultimate global golf bucket list. Most members of our World Top 100 Panel are seasoned golfers, each playing 20-30 of these courses annually while travelling extensively over decades to form their opinions on others. We recognise that opinions vary—even among our panel members. Rankings are subjective, and there are undoubtedly 50 or more courses in the UK and USA alone that could easily fit onto this list.
