Club de Campo Granadilla can trace its roots back to 1897 when Valparaiso Golf Club was established by a group of English businessmen working in the nearby South Pacific seaport of the same name.

For more than two decades, golfers played on a 9-hole course until land became available in the hills to the north east of the city – close to the centre of what is now Viña del Mar, "La Ciudad Jardín" (The Garden City) – and so, in 1922, Granadilla Country Club came into being.
Occupying a rather constricted 120-acre site, the 6,453-yard course begins with a par five and ends with back-to-back par fives at holes 17 and 18. The short par fours at 6 and 8 are two of the more memorable holes on the front nine whilst, on the inward half, the 123-yard 11th – with its green sitting behind water – is the best of the par threes on the card.
In 2010, Granadilla hosted the 84th edition of the Abierto de Chile Copa BCI (Chile’s National Open Championship) which was organised by the Golf Federation of Chile and the Tour de Las Americas.
The latest ranking of the Top 100 Golf Courses in the World serves as the ultimate global golf bucket list. Most members of our World Top 100 Panel are seasoned golfers, each playing 20-30 of these courses annually while travelling extensively over decades to form their opinions on others. We recognise that opinions vary—even among our panel members. Rankings are subjective, and there are undoubtedly 50 or more courses in the UK and USA alone that could easily fit onto this list.
