Granville Golf Club (Links)
5.5
This is the only true links in France. I have visited this course many times over the last 20 years and it never fails to be a pleasure. The club continue to invest in the course which now features a fairway watering system, carefully used allows for much better playing surfaces. The surrounds of the greens are always good giving you a choice of shot chip, pitch, putt. The greens tight with good surfaces and very fair to putt you get what you see.
The layout of two nines complement each other on pure links land, humps, hollows, a few blind shots, revetted well maintained bunkers all make for the perfect links experience. You never get the same course as the proximity of the sea and changing wind direction can change the nature of the course each time you play. Not to be missed, if you are in the area make the effort to play.
Often hosts Fedral French competitions.
The latest ranking of the Top 100 Golf Courses in the World serves as the ultimate global golf bucket list. Most members of our World Top 100 Panel are seasoned golfers, each playing 20-30 of these courses annually while travelling extensively over decades to form their opinions on others. We recognise that opinions vary—even among our panel members. Rankings are subjective, and there are undoubtedly 50 or more courses in the UK and USA alone that could easily fit onto this list.
