Green Eagle Golf Courses (North)

At 7,845 yards, the North course at Green Eagle is one of the longest courses anywhere, built to host professional tournaments and even the Ryder Cup. Besides the usual Tour styling, its defining element is the extremely undulated greens.

Water also represents one of the greatest challenges of the course and it’s reckoned that seventeen of the holes have a water hazard in play, either from the tee, along the fairway, or around the green – sometimes at all three positions on the same hole!

The national golf federation has also rated the North from the Champions tees as the most difficult course in Germany. If that’s the type of golf you, as an ordinary golfer, want to play then good luck to you but ask yourself – no matter how low your handicap – is this really the way forward for golf?

Now sponsored by Porsche, the DP World Tour’s European Open has been played here since it moved from the golf resort in Bad Griesbach in 2017. Before the tournament got under way, European Golf Design was called in to renovate the layout, including the redesign of six of the green complexes.
