The Hacienda del Álamo golf club in Murcia is the longest golf course in the southeast of Spain and designed by the well-known Dave Thomas, has 6724 meters from back tees and about 6000 from yellow tees (club) . This 18-hole championship course perfectly integrated into the natural terrain, wide greens and strategically placed obstacles so that playing golf is a fun challenge for you. Along with it, the existence of 6 short holes perfectly designed for all types of handicaps, a bunker area, a chip area, a large putting green and a practice area with the possibility of hitting on mats and on natural grass provides everything you need on this golf course. The spacious clubhouse is the perfect place to relax and cool off after a few hours of play, offering spectacular views over the course. Wide terrace is the best place to watch the starting or returning golfers and enjoy yourself with a large cold glass of beer. Actually the clubhouse is huge and luxuriously furnished so look likes more future-oriented, as the golf resort itself is still expanding.
I played here in the middle of February 2022. The fields are good enough quality, although in some places there seems to be a lack of maintenance (perhaps this is due to the very dry period). The fields are not very difficult (except distance), making them suitable for players of all levels. Much depends on weather conditions and wind strength and direction. Greens are quite good, not very quick, dry. Since the first hole game began to get more and more interesting. Actually the first holes of front nine seems a bit boring, but from 7th hole takes more impressment and involves the game. My opinion the back nine is more interesting and heavier.
My favorite holes are 7, 8, 9 from front nine and 10, 12, 14, 18 from back nine. The last hole par5 has really big challenge to reach green carefully with GIR. Nice hole! I think it is attractive and valuable to play here and was wondering about the small number of golfers in premium time. On the other hand it is advantageous when you are not pressed to play quick.
Value for money I found pretty good here. Every golf course rating is always a subject with a lot of subjectivity, depending on various criteria. I always rating by the following criteria: course complexity or challenging, fields condition (especially greens & fairways), service (only what you can get: buggy, clubs rent service, condition of clubs, the amount of choice and etc. except staff and other subjective things that depends on your or staff mood), surrounding views or pleasure to the eyes and definitely value for the price. All criteria will be rated from 1 to 5 stars. Concerning Hacienda del Álamo golf course my personal opinion is follow:
1. Challenging – 4*
2. Condition – 3,5*
3. Service – 3,5*
4. Surroundings - 4*
5. Value for the price – 4*
Probably I thinking about coming back here.
