A course on a great expansive heath, Sunningdale, Woking, The Berkshire etc. should take note on what a heathland course is supposed to look like i.e. more heather and less trees! Having written that, I’m surprised to see all those 6 ball reviews; most of the holes at Hankley don’t have nearly the strategic interest of the more famous heath courses and with the exception of the 7th, the green complexes are a bit plain, the bunker placement isn’t that interesting and the terrain doesn’t move much to make up for it. It’s a nice course but I think Hankley is more of a hidden gem than a Top 100 course.
