The original 9-hole layout at Harpenden Common Golf Club was inaugurated in 1931, with Ryder Cup player Abe Mitchell playing an exhibition match to mark the occasion. Additional land (known as the Jockey Field) was then acquired in the mid-1990s, allowing the club to expand the course to the eighteen holes that are now in play.

The latest ranking of the Top 100 Golf Courses in the World serves as the ultimate global golf bucket list.
