Herkenbosch
Herkenbosch Golf and Country Club lies on the edge of the De Meinweg National Park, alongside the German border in the southeast corner of the Netherlands. It's a beautiful forest course, hewn out of a dense pine forest, and its tough slope index rating pre-warns golfers that they are not in for an easy walk in the woods here.
Playing to a par of 72 over 6,755 yards, the course opens with a couple of gentle par fours, allowing golfers to warm up properly for the round ahead. The outward and inward nines both conclude with long par five holes whilst water lurks at one of the best holes on the card (the 171-yard par three 11th) where wayward tee shots will end up wet.
