It’s been suggested that Perry Maxwell may actually have designed the club’s course, though there’s no mention of this in author Christopher Clouser’s book The Midwest Associate, published in 2006. It’s thought the first nine opened in May 1925, with the second nine following in July 1927.
Unfortunately, even if Maxwell did have a hand in the layout, there’s little of his work left intact in the modern era.
