High Meadow Ranch
The High Meadow Ranch Golf Course is a conceptual course, designed by Tim Nugent and David Ogrin, open to the general public. Part of its pitch is its separation into three six-hole loops, allowing quick rounds of golf for those who don’t have time for even a full nine.
Despite the small number of holes during many rounds, there is still ample opportunity to rack up big yardage. The trio of sixes, when played together, amount to nearly 7,400 yards from the back tees.
The first two courses are differentiated by their styles, with the “Forest Loop” running through the woodlands and around wetland areas, while “Pine Barrens Loop” incorporates some waste areas to give it a more Pinehurst vibe.
The “Signature Loop” is where Nugent and Ogrin truly have fun, however. One instance is the Oakmont-style church pews that run between Nos. 3 and 4 during this loop (traditionally played as nos. 14 and 15 during an 18-hole round). The wonkiest signature comes last, however, when players will pitch up to a green built atop a brick wall-supported ledge as part of this 440-yard par four.
