Honiton
Located on high ground above Honiton, the course at Honiton Golf Club dates back to when the club was founded in 1896, starting out with nine holes but quickly becoming the 18-hole layout that’s still in play today.
The course occupies a compact property of around 90 acres, with glorious views across the town and the Blackdown Hills. Not much has changed here in well over 100 years, and that’s just how the members like it.
Measuring 5,922 yards from the back markers, the course plays to a par of 69 (34 out then 35 in) with only one par five on the outward half at #9 and one par five on the inward half at #14.
Highlight holes include the first (and shortest) of the par threes at the 126-yard 2nd; the right doglegging par four 5th (rated stroke index 2); the left veering par four 15th which plays to a green that slopes from front to back.
World Top 100 Golf Courses
The latest ranking of the Top 100 Golf Courses in the World serves as the ultimate global golf bucket list. Most members of our World Top 100 Panel are seasoned golfers, each playing 20-30 of these courses annually while travelling extensively over decades to form their opinions on others. We recognise that opinions vary—even among our panel members. Rankings are subjective, and there are undoubtedly 50 or more courses in the UK and USA alone that could easily fit onto this list.
