Founded in 1896, Honiton Golf Club may be set on high ground, but its fairways are relatively level and the views over the town and the Blackdown Hills are glorious.
A pleasant enough parkland track in a nice countryside location with some views. Although on top of a hill it's fairly flat and doesn't seem to be a taxing course with a lack of real stand-out/memorable holes. One noticeable feature is three par 3's in excess of 200 yards in the first 10 holes; these for the ladies become par 4's which mean the ladies only have two par 3's here which must be fairly unusual. In three separate parts dissected by roads I would imagine it lends itself to being a perfect spot to playing a few holes in an evening with various starting points. Played in August 2020 and it was in a very neat and tidy condition with springy fairway turf and good greens. A friendly and helpful club and I quite enjoyed our game.
