Hooge Graven

The golf facility at Hooge Graven Golfclub Ommen started out in 1993 with a 9-hole course which was extended ten years later to the 18-hole layout that’s currently in use, along with a 9-hole par three course. The newer holes are played in the sequence #3 to #7 on the east side of the 145-acre property then at #11 to #14 on the western fringes.

The layout extends to just under 6,200 metres from the back tees, playing to a par of 72 (out in 35 then back in 37), with the back nine almost 400 metres longer than the outward half. The fourth and final par three on the card arrives at the 172-metre 11th then six of the last seven holes are par fours, only one of which measures less than 340 metres.

Highlight holes include the short par for 2nd (with a pond positioned in front of the green); the left doglegging par four 5th (where another pond lies to the left of the fairway); the short par four 12th (played to a bunkerless green); and the 377-metre 18th which narrows considerably as the fairway approaches the home green.
