Hulencourt (Le Vallon)
Laid out within an historic 17th century estate by French architect Jean-Emmanuel Rossi in 1988, the fairways at Golf Club d’Hulencourt’s 27-hole complex occupy a largely open, gently undulating site that’s still maturing with age.
The holes on Le Vallon form the 18-hole course at Hulencourt (the par three 9-hole Le Verger course serves as a warm up for the main event here) with holes on the main layout configured as two returning circuits of nine.
The short par fours at 6 and 15 are two of the more memorable holes on the property, whilst the 386-metre, right doglegged 7th is rated the most difficult on the card. There’s also a fine quartet of short holes to negotiate, the best of which is probably the water-protected 5th.
It's a strategic course offering golfers multiple options on each hole, allowing them to play safe and aim away from hazards or choose a more aggressive playing line that presents better scoring opportunities. Additional back tee positions were added during a recent renovation to test the more elite golfer and the course now extends to 6.690 meters from those new tees.
The club hosted the B-NL Challenge Trophy by Hulencourt event on the European Challenge Tour in September 2022,with Germany's Alexander Knappe posting a 4-round total of 268 (20 under par) to win the tournament by one shotfrom Mikael Lindberg of Sweden.
