I’m surprised to be the first poster for the Copperhead which IMO is better than the other regular PGA Tour stop at the Blue Monster. Copperhead does have stacks of character and is enjoyable for the handicap golfer if you pick the right tee. The walk through the woods is preferable to the wide-open pancake flat courses that are swamped by water hazards throughout Florida. Having said that, 3, 12, 13 and 16 have significant water features, but somehow Copperhead doesn’t feel hemmed in by water trees are the predominant feature. I’m a fan of this course and along with Pine Barrens is a class act in the Tampa area.
