Ipswich Golf Club (Purdis Heath)

I recently had the pleasure of playing Ipswich Golf Club (Purdis Heath) and it comfortably exceeded my expectations; this is a seriously enjoyable and thoughtfully designed golf course.

A brilliant course that wouldn't look out of place among the top Surrey courses.

It is a notable time for Ipswich Golf Club who are making preparations to celebrate their course Centenary in 2027, although the golf club dates back some 32 years earlier with the previous golf course residing on nearby Rushmere Heath.

It’s fair to say Ipswich Golf Club had me as soon as I set eyes on those bunkers.

Ipswich Golf Club, more commonly known as Purdis Heath, is a true gem in Suffolk.

I played Purdis Heath in January 2025 on their Winter Special deal - £80pp for a full 18 and a full english before the round and it was well worth the money.

An enjoyable day playing 36 holes.

50th in England and 2nd only to Aldeburgh in the region.

The course is just visually stunning with challenging but sensible rough.

What a wonderful Golf course.
