Isaberg (Ostra)
Isaberg Golfklubb was founded in September 1968 and the work of cutting down the forest and picking stones began soon after. Two years later, nine holes were brought into play then in June 1974 King Carl XVI Gustav and Prince Bertil played the new course. The following year, another nine holes were added to create an 18-hole layout.
In 1989, Isaberg hosted the Gisvaled Ladies Open, one of twenty-one events held that year on the Ladies European Tour. A year later, a third set of nine holes was unveiled and in April of 1993 the introduction of another nine brought about the formation of the Västra and Östra 18-hole layouts. In 2010, the club hosted the first of six editions of the Isaberg Open on the Nordea Tour.
Holes on the Östra course occupy the northeast portion of the property, with the Västra course laid out to the southwest. The round culminates in four fantastic holes that hug the coastline of Lake Hammarsjön. In particular, the 186-metre 17th plays across a small inlet to an offset green that’s protected front left by a bunker designed to catch the over cautious player trying to avoid the water.
