Ivoire Golf Club

Located half an hour’s drive from the centre of Abidjan, the course at Ivoire Golf Club is situated close to the northern shores of the Ébrié Lagoon, where fairways are laid out on either side of a canal that empties into the lagoon.

Stretching to 6,621,metres from the back tees, the course plays to a par of 73 (36 out then 37 in), with holes arranged as two returning nines, both of which conclude with par five holes that play towards adjacent greens beside the clubhouse.

There are no water hazards on the outward half – with holes 2 to 8 laid out to the west of the canal – but that lack of aquatic interest is more than made up for on the inward half, with half a dozen holes routed around several large lakes.

Highlights include the first of the par fives at the 479-metre 3rd; the tough, left doglegging par four 7th; holes 12 to 14 which circle a couple of the big lakes; and the shortest of the par threes at the 145-metre 16th, requiring a forced carry over yet more water to the green.
