I am not sure as to where the name came from as the waterfalls on the course are as artificial as Disney World but it is a fun course. The first hole is welcoming. A short par four dogleg right, favor the right side as to avoid the bunker on the outside elbow. The 2nd hole is a short par five that is reachable. A great oppty to get your round started with a bang. Off the tee take dead aim at the middle and on your second favor the left side. There is a large waste bunker right. The par 4 4th, while you maybe tempted to carry the bunkers leftside, there is a marginal benefit. Aim down the middle. The setup of the tee box on 5 is deceptive. It will have you aiming WAY left. Don’t fall for it, after all it is a dogleg right. The sixth is a dogleg left par 5. Waste bunker all the way down the left side, having said that favor the left side off the tee. The dogleg left par 4 8th is a tough hole. Take dead aim down the center. The approach is tricky, long narrow green with bunkers on both sides and a ravine right. The 9th is a fun hole. Short with water left, you may want to keep the driver in the bag.
The back starts off with an uphill par 4. Make sure you hit an extra club on your approach. The par 5 11th is definitely reachable. Favor the left side of the fairway off the tee to give you the best angle in to a well protected green. The 12th, an uphill par 4, is one of those holes where you look at the card and the yardage and then are perplexed upon completion. I am not a big hitter, 382 off the tee and my 9 iron was pin high on the green. I think 13 is the signature hole. Mid-distance par 3 with the artificial waterfall in the background. This green slopes right to left. The short par 4 15th is a birdy oppty, grip it and rip it. The long par 3 16th is probably the toughest par 3. Long uphill with a large waste bunker. The par 4 17th has a quasi split fairway. My recommendation is favor the right side to give you the best angle at birdie. The 18th is a good finishing hole. Best line is favor the left 1/3 of the fairway as there is a water hazard right. There is another artificial water fall and hazard right.
Overall a good course and a great value, after all, all roads do not lead to Dunnellon, FL
