Just returned from a winter deal at the K club. The Palmer looked scruffy but played well and is obviously still feeling the effects of the Ryder Cup. It’s now played the way that was seen in the Ryder cup, so that the 600 yard 7th mentioned in the main review is now the 16th. This means that the front nine is good with a couple of excellent holes (including SI 1) and the back nine is superb with a great finish. The facilities are great and the course is overall very good, but the fact that there are some forgettable holes, leaves me thinking of it as a better version of the Belfry… I would certainly not consider it worth the full (350 Euros) green fee, but if you can get a good deal that involves playing the Smurfit course as well (the better course as every hole is excellent), then it’s highly recommended.
