Extending to 6,830 yards from the back tees, the course plays to a par of 71 (36 out then 35 in), with holes set out as two returning nines. Water, in the form of small ponds, comes into play at half a dozen holes, with fairway hazards threatening on the par five 4th and par four 6th then further aquatic threat lurking to the left of the 9th green. On the inward half, there’s a little lake to the left of the par four 11th; the par three 14th demands an all-carry tee shot to the green; and more water lies to the right and left of the home green.
Highlights include the slightly right doglegging par four 3rd; the second of the five par threes at the 200-yard 5th; the right doglegging par five 10th; and the very long par four 13th, with out of bounds to the left of the fairway on this tough (stroke index 2) hole. The round ends in fine style with a testing par four of 415 yards at the 18th which veers a little left from the tee towards an offset green that’s fortified at the front by water on either side of the putting surface.
