Kilspindie is a delightful walk with plenty of memorable holes, some challenging and mixed with a number of half par holes throughout the 18.
The 1st tee and 18th green sit right alongside the charming clubhouse, offering excellent views and also brings players and patrons close together and this adds to the atmosphere.
Early holes hug the coastline, with the peak being the 4th green tucked in the far corner of the property and flanked both sides by the beach. Shortish par 4s follow and keep changing direction to keep you guessing before the excellent par 3 8th again tucked right up against the beach.
The back 9 is generally inland holes heading back to the 16th near the clubhouse, before playing a couple of short, cheeky par 4s, both driveable and needing to navigate a couple of stone walls.
For the average player, there will be a good chance to shoot in the 70s, have a few birdie chances and perhaps finish with the same ball you teed off with, all in less than 3 hours walk.
The latest ranking of the Top 100 Golf Courses in the World serves as the ultimate global golf bucket list. Most members of our World Top 100 Panel are seasoned golfers, each playing 20-30 of these courses annually while travelling extensively over decades to form their opinions on others. We recognise that opinions vary—even among our panel members. Rankings are subjective, and there are undoubtedly 50 or more courses in the UK and USA alone that could easily fit onto this list.
