Review for Kiva Dunes

Reviewer Score:

Kiva Dunes is former US Open Champion, Jerry Pate design and quite possibly the most decorated course in the region. The scenery is comprised of sand dunes, lakes and natural wildlife area. This is splendid but don’t be lulled into a false sense of serenity as it is always breezy here and wind will definitely be factor.Kiva Dunes Golf Course - Photo by reviewer Hole #9 is a great par four that requires a layup on your tee shot leaving you with a 160 yard approach shot over water to a green that is nestled along a river bank. Precision golf at its’ finest! The 12th hole reminds me of one of my favourite golf courses, Greg Norman’s El Camaleon on the Riviera Maya in Mexico. This lengthy par four has a sandy beached lagoon that runs down the entire left side to a well-protected green. Hole #16 prevents you from going for this par five in two as there is a steep-faced bunker in front and to the right side and the green slopes to a river. Make sure your flat stick is working when you arrive on the 18th since it has the largest green in the state at 14,500 sq. ft. This is a great track and not to be missed.
